Indonesian-made mini-MPV receives a second update and comes in only two trims. Toyota Motor Thailand has launched an updated version of the Avanza, a mini-MPV built in Indonesia and shipped over to Thai shores via regional trade benefits. This is the second time the eight-year-old Avanza has received a facelift in a desperate bid to keep in fresh in its current generation. The seven-seat Avanza has the lowest starting price in the Thai mini-MPV market, where other models like the Honda Mobilio (659,000-753,000 baht), Mitsubishi Xpander (779,000-849,000 baht) and Suzuki Ertiga (655,000-695,000) compete. While all of its rivals employ car-like, front-drive platforms, the Avanza sticks to chassis-on-frame with rear-drive format in the pickup fashion.
